L.L. Johnson Lumber is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Delivery Driver (CDL-A or CDL-B) to join our growing team. OVERVIEW

• Spend most days driving a CDL truck making customer deliveries
• Routes range from under 100 miles with one stop to approximately 400 miles with multiple stops
• Most trips return home the same day
• When not scheduled to drive, drivers may assist with maintenance or production work

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

• Full-time position
• Start time: 6:00 AM, Monday through Friday
• Guaranteed 40 hours at regular pay
• Overtime paid for:
  • Anything over 8 hours per day
  • Anything over 40 hours per week
• Overtime up to 55 hours per week is common
• Quarterly bonuses

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate CDL-A or CDL-B delivery trucks
• Perform DOT pre-trip inspections
• Maintain a clean and organized truck
• Review delivery routes prior to departure
• Communicate with customers to coordinate arrival times
• Comply with all operational and safety policies
• Assist with hand off-loading as required

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:

FIRST: Monday-Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm with overtime available

SECOND: Monday-Friday 11:30am - 8:00pm with overtime as needed based on delivery schedule

What You Will Be Doing

• Learning and performing order processing, packaging, and fulfillment
• Operating a forklift safely and efficiently
• Providing secondary machining services - with training to be provided onsite
• Working in outdoor weather conditions year-round - primarily under covered warehouses with close access to heated/cooled office spaces
• Assisting customers and communicating effectively with the team
• Supporting warehouse organization and upkeep
• Contributing to a safe and productive work environment

Skills You Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift experience (or willingness to be trained)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and pass a pre-employment physical

What You Will Be Doing

• Supervising yard, warehouse, and shop workers
• Overseeing receiving, stocking, pulling, machining, and loading of merchandise
• Maintaining clean, organized, and safe yard and shop areas
• Managing inventory accuracy and adjusting databases as needed
• Assisting in planning delivery schedules and maps
• Training staff and participating in hiring, evaluations, and team development
• Performing inspections, maintenance checks, and operational duties

Skills You Need

• One to two years of related experience or equivalent education/training
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop and kneel
• Capacity to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
