MORE INFORMATION
Wood Characteristics:
- Appearance: Hard maple is known for its light color, typically ranging from creamy white to pale yellow with occasional darker streaks. This gives hard maple plywood a clean, bright, and attractive appearance. Over time, the wood can develop a slightly amber hue.
- Grain: The grain of hard maple is generally straight, but it can also feature some wavy or curly patterns, especially in figure types like curly or bird’s-eye maple. This makes it visually appealing for use in furniture and high-end cabinetry.
- UV-coated: plywood Is a type of plywood that has been treated with a UV (Ultraviolet) cured coating to enhance its surface durability, appearance, and resistance to various environmental factors. This coating process involves applying a liquid resin or varnish to the surface of the plywood and then curing it under ultraviolet light, which hardens the coating.
- Rotary Whole Piece Face Veneer (Rot): The entire log is cut or “peeled.” It can yield full sheets of veneer with broad grain pattern and no plain or quarter-sliced appearance.
- Veneer Core (VC): Constructed using inner plies composed of western softwoods. Veneer core panels are lightweight, dimensionally stable and have excellent screw holding capacity.
- Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF): Makes for a very smooth, consistent panel. This is a great substrate for high-end veneer and for applications when routing and shaping are required. The MDF core consists of pre-consumer recycled wood fiber.
- A-Grade veneer faces have the highest quality finish, with no visible defects.
- B-Grade veneer faces also have a high quality finish, however small sound knots and other minor timber defects may occur.
- C-Grade veneer face is used when a solid surface is needed on non-visual elements.
